YSA Welcomes New President & CEO, Atsushi Tsunomura

Mr. Atsushi Tsunomura takes over as head of YSA

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Atsushi Tsunomura as President

and Chief Executive Officer of Yamato Scientific America, effective January 2026. In

conjunction with this transition, Yamato Scientific America has relocated its

headquarters to San Jose, California, further strengthening our position within a leading

innovation hub.


Mr. Tsunomura is a Japanese national from Japan’s Tokyo Region and holds a Bachelor

of Engineering in Medical Electronics from Tamagawa University. He brings decades of

leadership experience across biotechnology, diagnostics, and scientific instrumentation,

including 15 years as an Executive Officer at Takara Bio, service as President of

Rikaken USA, Inc., and subsequent leadership roles at Rikaken Co., Ltd. in business

development and diagnostics. Most recently, he served as a Personal Agent in

Commercial Operations Support Services from 2017 to 2024.


As President and CEO, Mr. Tsunomura will continue to strengthen YSA’s general

laboratory instrumentation business while strategically expanding our life sciences

portfolio. This approach reinforces our commitment to innovation and positions us to

deliver comprehensive, high-value solutions across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals,

diagnostics, and healthcare, supporting the evolving needs of the scientific community.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Yoichi Horie, who, after more than eight years

as President and CEO, will be returning to Japan to pursue new opportunities. We are

grateful for his leadership and lasting contributions.
