Yamato Scientific Co., Ltd., was established in 1889 by Mr. Sosuke
Morikawa as a trading company. Milestones include the invention of
the first X-ray tube in Japan in 1915, broadening the business to
the scientific community by manufacturing various glassware products,
followed by development, manufacture, and distribution of R&D-related
scientific equipment which represents the foundation of our current
business.
Our founder's original ideology still continues after 100 years; “Yamato
believes that science has the power to improve people's lives and
the environment in which we live. Further, our company has a mission
to provide innovative and cutting-edge technology that contributes
to the development of scientific breakthroughs."
Yamato Scientific Co. Ltd. has become one of the largest scientific
instrument manufacturer and distributor in Japan. The company has
four business categories; scientific instruments, laboratory furniture,
analytical & measuring instruments, and testing equipments.
All of our products are designed and manufactured at our affiliated
factory, Yamato Scientific Co.,Ltd. Minami Alps Factory under stringent
quality control management. Our factory has obtained the ISO9001
and ISO14001 approvals to serve our global sales network.
In 1980, Yamato entered the USA market under the corporate name
of a leading US scientific instrument distributor. Our reliable
and up-front engineering earned immediate respect. Yamato was the
first manufacturer to introduce a microprocessor temperature control
with self-diagnostic features in our thermo processing equipment
for the USA market.
Yamato Scientific America was formed in 1982, to provide general
laboratory equipment to the US market including incubators, muffle
furnaces, water baths, rotary evaporators, sterilizers, stirrers
and spray dryers. The company has further diversified product lines
tailored to semi-conductor and biotechnology fields. As of February
2006, Yamato Scientific America, relocated to the heart of Silicon
Valley, Santa Clara, California, with the focus to expand and support
a wide spectrum of bioscience related business and academic activities.
